I have been working hard to get into physical shape again and eating healthy. I know the Active Duty folks are already doing so but was wondering about my fellow veterans?
For me, I am doing kickboxing 4 times a week, elliptical, and weights as well as eating healthy meals. I'd love to know what folks are doing to get healthy.

My daughter got me back into PT. We started running together and doing 5K obstacle courses and other 'fun' things. We did a 5K NFL Football run where we finished by running the length of Ravens stadium, rounding both goal posts and finishing on the 50 yard line. One run took us around Fort McHenry (Baltimore, MD). She has lost over 100 lbs and I've dropped over 60, my Doc is happy. Current training is for a Sprint Triathlon and the Navy 5 Miler (did the Army 10 Miler in 2013).

I have lost over 100 lbs myself. Congratulations to you and your daughter! I know how hard it is.

I somehow do not remember fire in basic, although it would be a good motivator! This was near the end of Warrior Dash. Daughter finished about 3 seconds before me. I'm having more fun with PT now than I ever did while in. Clearer focus?

Did an Olympic in Germany, many years ago. Will have to look these two up. I didn't know DC had a Tri. Thanks Jeremy.

I was told by my doctor that I need to exercise more than I already do to help with my sleep apnea, which will also help with my diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension and a few others. He said if I can get the SA more under control than just using the CPAP, it will help reduce the other issues as well.

So I have started riding my bike more and getting my wife to go on more walks for both of us and not just me alone. She already has me eating better, and I have cut out coffee and reduced my soda intake by half as well.

Great job. I cut down my coffee to 2 cups a day and drink much more water throughout the day and at some meals. That soda will kill you.

MSG David Kalb Besides that: you cannot make a mess if you spill your water!

A niece had a Big Gulp soft drink container between she legs as she was driving. When she had to suddenly hit the brakes, she also swueezed her knees together.

Her seat and herself were wet all of the way to Las Vegas, NM.
(An American state)!;)

I have been working out regularly for years and really enjoy it. I get two days of 30-60 minute moderate to heavy cardio a week, plus two days of weights. I've blue collared my entire life so have had lots of gym setbacks but I push through because that's what I do. Healthy eating is a 32 oz. bone in rib eye,a sweet potato and a salad. hahaha
