I am a US Army veteran, having served in Germanh from 1968 till 1971, the as a USArmy reservist from 1974 till 1984, the went into the US Air Force Reserves from 1984 till 1991, and activated during Desert Storm/Shield 1. I know that as a military veteran I can wear tge Army Class A inly for special ocassions. BUT which one, the old green Class A of my time in service, or the new ASU, which j hear will soon be replaced by the old/new WWII tan pinks.

The regs say your can wear either the uniform that was current at the time of your discharge or the current uniform.

...at the highest grade attained, which sounds like SP5 Cam Garcia should wear the Air Force Uniform unless the highest grade attained was in the Army. Not sure where you will locate ASU Specialist 5 rank.

Thank you MSG Duchesneau, After my discharge from active duty as a Sp5/E5, I went into the Army Reserves and was promoted to E6. When I transferred to the Air Force Reserves, I was awarded the rank of TSgt (SSgt). So from what I've been reading, I guess either the Army or Air Force military Class A uniform in the rank of E6 would be in order.

I would use a bit of common sense and stay with uniforms not older that what a service member worn during his/her time.

SPC Joseph Wojcik- Good one :) In all seriousness though, it is about common sense and respecting the appropriate times, places and reasons for wearing the uniform. I obviously didn't serve during the Spanish American War, but have worn the equivalent naval officer's uniform of the period once. Likewise, that of naval officers of WWI. On occasion, I've even worn the "uniforms" of colonial irregulars serving during the French and Indian War. In each case, wearing these uniforms conformed to an event, followed the regulations of the period, and was done so to promote respect for the men who did serve in those times.

MAJ Javier Rivera - I think that SPC Wojcik was engaging in satire, not really requiring an answer. Lol!

as far as I have heard we are not going back to the pink and greens, just the jacket style. As fae a which, if you want to sped the money get the ASU's, they have had soldiers that are getting awarded the MOH issued new ASU's. So if you have to buy either one I would go to the ASU's
