It was a good idea to pull nukes from SK. What's the purpose of having them there? We have the capability of delivering nuclear power anywhere in the world in under an hour. Having nukes on a peninsula that is just miles from an enemy is asking for trouble with no gain from it. Pulling them was absolutely the right move - tactically and strategically.

Interesting point. Makes sense. I think it could only be a strategic move to have them present. But, also an hour of nK artillery on Seoul would be less than fun.

Part of New World Order i.e. globalization? Let's face it, every POTUS makes mistakes. Some larger than others and some more obvious. It's a tough job and they have to make decisions based on what is known (or they think is known) at the time. Hindsight often shows some bad calls, but I'm glad they were making them instead of me. You raise a good question and I wouldn't have ever known if you hadn't raised it. At this point we are past the blame game because actions not taken now will likely carry far greater consequences.

Didn't serve there so I cannot say (didn't know we actually had them there, but not surprised) I would guess they were the Pershings, and they were probably pulled back about the same time as the ones in Germany, so that would have been under Bush 41. At least from the Army, the AF might have had theirs out there for longer, but again, I was Army at that time.

I'd be willing to bet that we have nukes in Korea as I type. They may be tucked away in a submarine, but I bet they're close!

We got rid of the Davey Crockett weapons systems while I was there in '67-68, along with their tactical nuclear warheads. Not sure about other systems.

Found 2 articles, 1 from NY Times and other from Washington post....don't trust either source, but they do agree on the timeframe:

U.S. to Pull A-Bombs From South Korea
The United States plans to withdraw all nuclear bombs from South Korea, Administration officials said today. Coming on top of cuts in nuclear missiles and artillery shells announced by President Bush last month, the new move would mean no nuclear weapons would remain in that country. The officials said the step would be taken in part to persuade North Korea to permit international inspection of its nuclear plants and in part because the...
