We all belong to a special group of people who do or did special jobs. What was your first one? This is mine and my fellow brothers and sisters will remember it.

Embassy marine
Post #1 at the American Embassy in Moscow, U.S.S.R. Okay, it may not have been an "office" but it was the first time I ever sat (actually, stood) behind a desk as a U.S. Marine.

My first military "office" was the quarterdeck of the USCGC ESCANABA at Boston. It was a small prefab hut with heat a desk and a bar stool with the WQSB mounted on the wall behind me.

"office" meant any workplace that was your first spot in the military. All answers are right on!

Oh, okay --- I guess I misunderstood the question. In that case, my first "office" was a supply warehouse at Camp Foster on Okinawa, Japan.

My first and only "office" was a desk in the back room of the 459th Sig BN (CA) Chapel at Camp John F. McDermott near Nha-Trang, Republic of Viet-Nam. It was set up so you didn't have to come in through the "religious" part of the Chapel to get to me to talk about your drug problem.

Although, actually, come to think of it, when my shop OIC in Germany took me out of my normal duty as a maintenance team leader and made me the TAERS clerk (The Army Equipment Records System -- anybody remember that?) I did have a desk in the corner of his office.
