What is your biggest pet peeve?

I suppose if I had a pet peeve it would be "cherry pickers". What I mean by that is those that pick and choose what policies to enforce, or abide by, and ignore the ones that don't fit in their little universe. Conversely this also applies to those that choose only to enforce or abide by said policies only when it suits them.

Another would be those that look for fault where there is no fault. Just my $0.02. Happy 4th of July !

Soldier's that drag their feet or when they talk using the words such as UMM, AND, LIKE, YOU SEE that gets my blood boiling every time.

When I can't get my pants on fast enough to take the pooch out to the poop spot and she barks her head off. I usually pull SPO (Staff Pooch Officer) on Saturday while the kids and wife have it the rest of the week.

Oh, but you meant pet peeves as opposed to peeves with pets :-)

In that case, no disrespect but, senior officers who keep you waiting, and waiting on them for a meeting w/o communication because their schedule is running behind

Back in the day, improper saluting used to always burn my ass.
Senior NCOs ducking salutes from junior officers...

and the worse, the salute fest...when a group of officers encountered another group and rendered about 10 unnecessary salutes because they were ignorant on the regs.

SALUTE THE SENIOR OFFICER IN THE GROUP and carry on, folks...

Haircuts.

Mine are people who interrupt a conversation or try to change the subject. There is also nothing more frustrating than being ignored or being given an ambiguous answer to a straight forward question.

I think soldiers not correcting one another is my biggest pet peeve!

In terms of inspections and finding personnel not following proper procedures, the saying "But we've always done it that way".

Instead of following blindly, how about actually reading up on regulations.

I see a lot of uniform BUZZ here and frankly that is okay, however my pet peeve has to do with "KNOWN violation of any standard" and basically throwing it in the face of others just daring a OTSC. I am an aviator, so let me say that brow beating my fellow branch folk is not in my best interest, it must be said they love to do this daily. I am not a CSM who most state has nothing better to do then give critiques on the wear of the uniform and conduct, but I have been accused when making corrections just because of my rank and becoming "one of them".

There are clear violations and the smallest only means to me that you are willingly able to make a choice that is not yours to make and the consequences only get more detrimental when considering aviation. To list a few, mustaches, sideburns and hair clearly out of regulation, A2CU un-bloused when not flying or bloused way below the second eyelet of the boot, not reporting to formation at all or on time when it applies to everyone, etc.

I think everyone has more than one pet peeve and think they could list more. What I find totally true about Rally Point is that most folks here CARE about their service and reputation. It is evident in the responses and care given to subjects here trying to gain a more professional perspective and opinion on things.

I frankly enjoy the cross service environment myself and so therefor I stick with knowingly violating standards. Those folks know who they are already and most likely they are not reading this anyway.

I'm a ASU nazi particularly with females....I cannot stand when name tags are obviously out side the prescribed locational area!
