Many of us have one thing that really gets to us. I have to say that probably my biggest pet peeve (as it pertains to the military) are ill fitted ACU tops. I constantly find myself explaining to people how their uniform should fit.

What is your pet peeve?

My biggest pet peeve is folding the collars of uniform items down when they clearly weren't designed that way. The Parka, the fleece, the waffle top. It looks MUCH more unprofessional doing that than just zipping the damn things up the way they were supposed to.

The excessive wear of the Reflective belt!!!
In your PT gear that has reflective material build in...add your reflective belt!
Leaving your barracks in Kuwait to walk 6 steps to the latrine...add your reflective belt!

For me... the lack of pride and self discipline that some Soldiers have. If you're in this line of work, be proud of your service. Your ASU is your resume and the epitome of pride in YOUR service and YOUR accomplishments. Make it perfect. Same goes for the ACU (whichever pattern is currently in use). Be proud of your military appearance and wear it right.

Head gear for me. Even a decade after the Army came out with the black beret, way too many senior NCOs and officers still could not wear it properly. Also, I do not like to see people wearing the patrol cap without some kind shaping to it. I know it is not against AR 670-1 but to me it does not look professional when Soldiers wear it all puffed up on the head. As a minimum, at least push it down.

People who would have you believe they're something when in fact they're not. I guess you can encapsulate that with one word: disingenuousness. It was RAMPANT when I was in Afghan. A close second would be unprofessionalism, which is analogous to the first thing I mentioned.
