'We Don't Serve Cops Here,"' West Hartford Dunkin' Donuts Employee Tells Officer
A West Hartford police officer was waiting at the back of the line in the Dunkin' Donuts at 1234 Farmington Ave. to buy a cup of coffee on Saturday morning when one of the employees said loudly in a room full of customers, "He didn't get the message. We don't serve cops here," police said. Now I ask you all here on RP, what is wrong with this picture? What is happening to our morals and doesn't anyone have any more scruples? This is unacceptable and the asshole who told that Police Officer should be terminated! Just imagine if you would, if that store clerk were to be held up by a gunman, who the hell is he going to call? Ghost busters? I don't think so. I means WTF is going on?

it's really no different then a bakery refusing to make a cake for a gay couple(( i know it'll be argued it is, but its not)). I don't agree with refusing service to anyone for any reason other than they're just being assholes in the store. I recognize cops have a hard and very dangerous job. The other side of this is, denying cops do not abuse power is having your head in the sand, course not all of them do, but they do on small levels like using rollers to not have to sit at stop lights to shooting unarmed people. some people don't like cops, thats their right.

You missed one key piece of information - "The officer left the store. The employee ran out saying she was joking and apologized to the officer." It was in poor taste, but the employee made a stupid mistake and tried to fix it immediately.

I'm not even sure why this is news. I didn't know a bad joke rated that level of response. It should have ended right at the moment she chased him out of the store and apologized.

In a nutshell, law enforcement is under the same form of attack as the returning Vietnam soldiers, and the impetus is being directed from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. The current administration operates by the Four D's: distract, deceive, divide, and destroy!
