Promotions don't come because you warmed a chair for a while. How are you grooming others to take over your job? Are your superiors doing the same to get you promoted?

I'm older and find it is my duty to mentor others so they may take my job some day. I won't be here forever.

I teach them the basics of the job first and then work on the harder aspects after they have a good idea of what the job entails. Have them do a few hands on things at a time and work them up to doing all the hands on things before I leave/promote. My superiors have done it for me and I have have that it works.
