What are your feelings as the Taliban reclaim Afghanistan after 20 years of US involvement?

I was there in 2007 to 2008 what I saw was that the people didn't want us there but that's fine because I was fighting there I didn't want them here I strongly don't trust the president I do beleive that there is going to be a war and I'm afraid it's going to be here .

I think it's a disgrace that the present administration has left all the US Citizens to find their own way to safety. What kind of signal is that showing the terrorist and our enemies that the USA does not care about their citizens. It shows our enemies that we are weak...this is not going to end well.

I don't have a problem leaving Afghanistan. It's how we are leaving that's the problem. It doesn't matter what POTUS did what and when. It looks bad.

I hate to say it, but I am not surprised by the way things turned out. Desert Storm is the only war during my life time that was done the way they should be; WITH A PLAN TO GO IN, A PLAN FOR WHAT WE ARE GOING TO ACCOMPLISH, AND A PLAN FOR HOW AND WHY WE ARE GOING TO LEAVE, ALL THIS BEFORE WE SEND THE FIRST GROUND POUNDER IN!!!. Yeah I know Eisenhower said plans are useless in the long run, but without this initial planning, you are as we say in chess "planning to lose". I kept and still get flashes of Mel Gibson in "Beyond Thunder dome" asking "Whats the plan?" and getting told "Plan.. there is no plan!", starting on day one of the Bush invasion of Afghanistan. There were no precise goals laid out, which said to me that there was a high chance that this would end up like Vietnam.
I am betting that neither Trump nor Biden asked for a plan w/o specifying the date themselves. I do not know why I bother, but someday we will have better presidents, like the first Bush, who really know how to get things to work, 'cause they know and understand history. Not gonna' hold my breath tho'.....

Afghanistan has been the "Graveyard of empires," since before Christ. The more recent experiences of the British in the 1800s and Russia in the 1980s was a harbinger of what was in store for us. It could not have ended any other way.

It is a sequel of failure. Our government never learned from its mistake and like to repeat it self with same mistake.

To put it mildly, this didn't need to happen. Also, this isn't the first time politics screwed the good U.S. farmed forces accomplished.

Just like Viet Nam the politicians start the war and then decide to just leave after tying the hands of the military. Should have had set a goal and then turned the military loose to accomplish that end none of this political nonsense get in remove all threats completely destroy all resistance eliminate all enemy leaders destroy their will to fight without political involvement! If the politicians want to be involved send them not the military as we did in WWII USE TACTICAL NUKES TO ELIMINATE THEIR WILL TO RESIST
