As long as you eat, that's all that matters, even if it's siting on the ground eating a MRE.

Most bases have multiple chow halls and the quality can vary from base to base and chow hall to chow hall. Overall it's not terrible. Once you get out of IET the quality will go up a little.

Overall I believe the Air Force had the best Dining Facility. The Navy Mess Hall and the Army Chow Halls. Hell, when you're hungray and its free who gives a damn.

I've been to AF Dining halls from Baghram, Turkey, England, and the U.S. They have great food. Army ain't bad but the Coast Guard gets the gold. Here in CT we have the Coast Guard Academy, and several Coast Guard sections ALL with great chow and friendly conversation.

Some the best breakfasts! The food can vary, but you will not go hungry.

You can't beat a DFAC breakfast in quantity or quality, especially if you have a minute to savor it. Coffee blows since they switched to the liquid base they add hot water to.
