What are the chances of being selected for OCS if the service member is nondeployable (due to a medical condition) but meets retention standards?
Other details:
- can take all events in the APFT/ACFT
- on permanent profile for (possible) abdominal pain
- can PCS to CONUS & OCONUS locations but not combat/austere environments.

Officer candidates are subject to entry standards, not retention standards.

If the service member is non-deployable, why would the Service want them to be an officer? Essentially, the Service Member with a permanent profile limiting deplorability is a limited duty officer. They can't be assigned to most combat MOS because those MOS are in the business of being deployed to fight. Same for many support MOS. IMO, the profile makes an automatic reject for OCS.

There is no likelihood for attending OCS, there is very little incentive/benefit in doing so for the military. There are an abundance of candidates who are fully deployable and qualified.
