I am truly hoping that after the Academy awards and the Veterans Crisis Hotline Press 1 winning, that it helps resolves the issues described in this article. They seem to have the back-up phone banks in place and barring a major disaster the phone should roll over to the next available and open line.
When someone finally gets the courage or desperation to call the time is critical that someone answers and starts a discussion with them. This could be the one chance we get for the call for help. There is no time to wait for these folks they want and need the help then and there. I do hope that it will now get fixed. Salutes

I will point out that the issues with the Hotline as that we are not doing are part by writing, visiting our congress representatives to make the changes. The hope is us doing our part to bring about change. Congress and the VA will not do what needs to be done unless enough people/veterans complain; so we need to complain, complain, but not here on Rally Point. Use Rally Point as your staging area.

CSM Michael Lynch better late than never. I specifically went to my therapist about this issue. It took less time to drive to hospital than to get an answer, decisions are made in a second. Just that quick. And as you may have seen over the last 4 years, there has been an increase in people literally pulling the trigger.
