Should it be outlawed for politicians to participate in lobbying activities after their term ends (i.e. revolving door)?

No, politicians are American citizens. They enjoy the same rights as anyone else after they leave office. Such a law would violate the 1st Amendment of the Constitution.

I think lobbying in general needs some better regulation. I have nothing against a politician lobbying another politician, but if there's an exchange of money in the process they should both be hung in the streets and made an example of. Lobbying is a joke term. It is actually buying politicians that you're referring to, which should be, and used to be, insanely illegal.

Should it or is it?
I think it is should be illegal or at the vary least have a period where one was barred from such activity?

I think it is multi layered answer to your last reply. I think the first part is that most Americans don't care, as long as they have America's Got Talent or some equally mind numbing show to entertain them. Then a large number has surrendered to the system and are economically indentured to the system...and are happy to also numb themselves like the group above. Then there are some who believe the system can be corrected with ballot and waiting for integrity to return to the system? As bad as it is, it is not to the point where We the People have decided it time to turn to the option our founders found themselves pushed to?

All it takes is the right catalyst and we are in denial that "we the people" are staring into the abyss..

I do not think we are staring into the abyss and much as shaking off the lethargy that has plagued us?
