Definitely Questionable for positive & Negative’ reasons. Just My two cents.

Why shouldn't Veterans with PTSD be permitted to hold any position that requires carrying a firearm?

SPC Nancy Greene are saying Veterans with a diagnosis of PTSD are disqualified from obtaining a weapons permit in almost all states? If so, that isn't true.
Here are a few facts:
1. A diagnosis of PTSD isn't a disqualifier for a weapons permit.
2. Background checks don't include a medical records check.
3. Disqualification generally includes a finding of not mentally competent, or committed to a mental health facility.

Tell THAT to NC!
You need a certified letter from a ‘qualified’ Psychaitrist to ‘possibly’ obtain a ‘gun’ permit. I am even the Victim of DV & needed a letter from Psychiatrist & Therapist. Still haven’t completed ALL paperwork & paid $200.00 to obtain permit to purchase a weapon. That’s NC law! Certainly hope that is not the case in other states!
BTW, I have to complete an 8 hour Safety Course & pat fir ut myself; even though I qualified’Exoert’ while on Active Duty & this Information is included on my DD 214 & DD 215!1SG (Join to see)

NC disqualifies applicants when: "The applicant has been adjudicated incompetent or has been committed to
any mental institution;"
NC Sheriff's Association, Firearms Laws and Permits, November 2018.
A diagnosis does not equal adjudicated.
Same publication explains: "Is currently, or has previously been adjudicated by a court, or administratively determined
by a governmental agency whose decisions are subject to judicial review, to be lacking mental capacity or mentally ill. Receipt of previous consultative services or outpatient
treatment alone shall not disqualify an applicant;"
However, I also see that they require a signed release for mental health treatment and substance abuse treatment.

NC is a ‘Good Old Boy’ state. I was successfully treated for Alcoholism. Have been sober fir 30+ years. I am diagnosed with PTSD. This information is VA documentation. I have to provide ALL types of documentation to obtain permanent permit. That is the Fact of My case. However, ‘criminals’ purchase ‘illegal’ weapons All the time! ( I have the documentation I need, now I have to complete the rest of the paperwork, pay the $209, & then take an 8 hour Safety Course. Sounds like the Army to me! LOL1SG (Join to see)
