Safety Razors vs Multi-blade razors
Okay, so I recently made the decision to switch from the Mach 3 multi-blade razor to an old school safety razor. I did my research, watching videos on YouTube on tips and tricks on shaving with a safety razor and whatnot. Took time to talk to the guys at the Art of Shaving store we have here and decided to give it go. I even made the switch from canned shaving cream to a shaving lather and brush.
Anyways, so today was the first time I took the new razor out and I have to shave, and I have to say, I'm very pleased. While it takes a little longer than using a multi-blade razor the end result is much better.
So since those still serving are required to shave everyday now, has anyone else made the switch? Or are you staying with your multi-blade razors? If you are using a safety razor and have any tips please share. I have to say, I'm pretty happy that I only have a little bit razor burn on my neck which is normal but no major cuts or anything!

I shave my face and head with an old school safety razor (Merkur), with shark blades. I love the safety razor, and find it easier to shave the head with a safety razor.

CSM Michael J. Uhlig - I have been using a Merkur (34C) for several years now. Great investment.

SGT Ben Keen - I'm not a huge fan of Sharks, though they are okay. I have been generally rotating between Feathers, Lords, and Astra's. The Murker razors are garbage.

I made the switch a year and a half ago and haven't looked back. I get 100 blades on Amazon for 11 bucks.

Safety razor almost every day for I'm guessing at least 6 months so far. I'll use an electric if I'm traveling (like right now), because I don't have my travel kit quite to my liking.
Far superior result. Only issue is that if I am both tired and in a hurry, I may nick my face a bit. Pretty rare now, but I admit I was quite a sight after my first 2-3 attempts.
