I remember quite a few over the years from the USO, Bob Hope had stop hosting them by the time I came around into the military in the early 80s. While I didn't see my 1st deployment until the late 80s, my first long term deployment came in 1990/91 with DS, but we didn't have any at that time, USO didn't really start doing shows for deployments again until OIF/OEF.

During the past decade + of dual wars, the USO has put on many shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the troops, there have been concerts, comedy shows, WWF/WWE wrestling events and so on, so while the great Bob Hope and his bevy of beauties are no longer with us, the USO and many other organizations have carries on the tradition of entertaining the troops while deployed overseas.

1LT Sandy Annala I was in Charlie Med hooked up to about three IVs, just out of surgery in a typhoon that blew through, when Bob Hope came to Danang in '67. Obviously, I was not gonna make the show.

I'm laying there, and look up at some racket, and here comes loud Martha Raye with all of the girls from the show in tow, touring all of the wards and wearing Jungle uts. She stopped and talked with each of us. Jackie Gleason's home was sort of across the street from me and she knew the area well. Hell of a lady! Thanks for the clips!

In Kosovo 00-01 they brought a HUGE group. Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Washington Wizards Dance Team, John Glenn, Ty (Murry? the bull rider?) Jewel, a bunch of MOH recipients and some other people. It was the best show I ever saw, at home OR down range.
