I have decided to re-up for another 4 years in the Army. I spoke to the retention NCO today about re-class to 68T. I have been looking at in-out call for 68T in the past months and starting to feel hopeless, but before I give up I know there are NCOs on this page that able to help me or give me some tips.

Does your current MOS allow for a change in MOS and is 68T allowing Soldiers to retrain to it?
Do you meet ALL the requirements for 68T, without waiver?

My current MOS is 68J and is over-strength and yes I meet all the requirement for 68T without waiver. Retention checked for the class date up to 2015 and there not a single one available. How is that even possible.

The course is 11 weeks and FY14 training seats are probably already filled and FY15 training seats may not be released for filling for in-service retraining yet.

Yes and from what I heard most of the people who are holding the MOS never re-class. Either way I'm pretty sure there are still hopes I just have to speak to the right person in order to pull some strings.

SPC Nguyen, Listen to what MSG Quick tells you. Hes Kind of well known in the retention community. Being in an overstrength MOS allows you to reclass, but your chances from what Ive seen of reclassing into a ballanced MOS from what I have seen arent good. Maybe find somthing else thats Understrength that also peeks your intrest.
