So, I was in the middle of clearing to PCS. Was told at the end of week 1, I am flagged due to an investigation. Now I'm being told the flag will be gone in time, but I have 1.5 weeks to complete 3 weeks worth of tasks. Pet health certs, ship vehicle, HHG, finish work on house, and finish clearing. Looking for advice. Already tried HRC, but my branch is useless. All calls and emails are unreturned

Work with your S1 to get your report date to your follow on assignment amended. They should be able to take care of that for you.

Sir, the PCS is to school. Branch has to cancel the orders. S1 can't do anything to help. My G1 can't even do anything for me.

Call the School house. A lot of times they have better luck getting a hold of branch. Even if they can't, they might be able to work a later report date for you and bump you into a later class date. Your chain of command should help if they need a justification memo or statement for the school house to action on. In the mean time, keep trying branch. Good luck!

I don't think your Branch is 'useless' and that's probably an irresponsible statement by a leader such as yourself, CPT (Join to see).

Since this was probably a FLIPL, have you requested a deferment through your chain of command?

SGM, my branch can tell me they know what is best for my career, but cannot tell me what that is when I ask. I may be cynical, but I'm tired of being in a dead-end branch.

The investigation isn't for a FLIPL. It appears that a person in the unit mentioned my name and a number of others, but their story has no grounds. I have been told not to worry, it doesn't really involve me. That said, I don't know what it's specifically for or when it will actually resolve. The entire investigation is being done at the 2-star level. The IO is actually from another installation. All I can do is wait. My CoC cannot help defer, it's all on HRC.

The Army is not known for doing this quickly. You can be flagged for months. Your commander can call branch and as long as your assignments officer is tracking your orders will be placed on hold or deleted as you cannot pcs in this status.

The initial investigation is normally 30 days, but granted sometimes it takes a few weeks to get the investigation started. Your local company commander is the one who flagged you. However, as an officer your convening authority is generally a one or two star general. So it is not your local commanders decision to unflag you. The investigation will have to be reviewed and the local commanders will make recommendations. Based on the alleged offense you may be completely innocent and cleared. You may also face UCMJ or admin action such as a gomor. This is not a fast process and you need to seek legal advice and ask your commander to give you a better assessment. I can promise you though it isn't something that is fast unless it is completely unsubstantiated and that is the small percentage of the time as they had to have something to initiate an investigation.
