One country's response to illegal immigration. Should this be the U.S. response?

The situations in Israel and the United States are vastly different calling for vastly different responses to illegal entry. Israel is in a fight for its very existence. So is the United States. No, wait. That's not a difference.
Terrorists hell bent on the destruction of Israel hide among illegals. Well, same in the US.
Those crossing borders into Israel without regulation and control may carry diseases and contraband that threaten public health and safety. Oops, same in the US.
Ah, here's the difference...
Israel is hell bent on surviving.

Cpt Jack Durish - you beat me to the punch. Israel's fence isn't about immigration, it's about Palestinian terrorists.

Something like this would never happen in the US. Despite the fact Israel doing this and some other countries doing far worse things, If we were to do it, it would blow up in our faces as a PR nightmare. Something needs to be done about the Illegal Aliens though. We are way to easy on them when there is a process (all be it a slow one) to become a citizen.

No. However, there must be an orderly process to avoid disease, exploitation, drugs, crime, etc.
