I am very interested to see how the creation of AOC 38G will move our branch forward, as I hope it adds value to our formations by putting the right officers into the right slots (particularly in the FxSp's).

During my deployments I saw many NCOs and Officer functioning as 38G, I think that the ARMY saw this too and has further developed by growing. The good thing here is that NCO with education can apply for a commission.

Carlos, you have a BA degree and experience how about you applying for a direct commission in 38G?

Carlos anyone can go through state O.C.S. but they must be under 35 in the Guard or 32.5 in the Army Reserve last time I checked. Get a branch then as L.T. or CPT with C.C.C out of the way transfer to Civil Affairs. U Can't go C.A. as basic branch in Reserve Component. Others here all say the same thing.

LTC (Join to see) - There are always age wavers, and that age of 35 is adjusted for years of prior service.
Back in 2010 when the USAR was taking people up to age 40 or so, a friend of mine enlisted at age 52 due to his 12 years prior service in the late 70s/early 80s.

LTC (Join to see) - Everything is based upon the needs of the ARMY, recall all those that tried to leave the ARMY when their ETS came up but couldn't. Some of were called from retirement, fact is after my last deployment in 2008, prior to my injury I was planning to return to the Retired Reserves and was told "Why, we will just call you back!"
