The original USS LEWIS B. PULLER (FFG-23) was just getting broken in, when after only 16 years of service she was decommissioned and sold to the Egyptian Navy. As far as I can tell she is still in service as the ENS TOUSHKA.
I mentioned this to a Marine on my last deployment and all he did was shake his head.
