A quick google (or bing, or any search engine) search for "microfiche to digital" will find you several services that will make a digital copy of each page.
If you happen to be in or near city with a large library system, try calling the central library and talk to a librarian. Most of the large libraries have older collections on microfilm and microfiche, some have their own systems to make digital copies. The service may be cheaper or even free.

However you do it, have the Mission: Impossible theme playing while you do!

Request a new copy from VA. It's going all digital now.
If you are in Central Virginia the Main Richmond Library has a complete Microfiche read and either transfer to USB Drive or Copy to Paper Machines on the 2nd Floor of the Library.
The use does not cost very much. I got a bunch of paper copies for less than $5.00

It sound like you left service prior to records converting to digital around 2004-2005.
All prior records were required to be digitized and retained on file for 99 years at that point.
The Army offers HRCapps where prior service can download all records as pdfs with a DS Login (the same DS login you would need for any VA services), the Navy should have a similar service.

Could you provide direction on using that HRCapps. Don't see anything to access records.

step 1 open https://www.hrcapps.army.mil/portal/
step 2, you should see an icon at the top of the page for Reserve/Retiree/Veteran Record

You are accessing a U.S. Government (USG) Information System (IS) that is provided for USG-authorized use only.
