Anything that you get penalized for NOT using isn't a benefit at all. ObamaCare is a joke.

I still wouldn't get that crap without the VA. The only good part about obummercare is that you're kids can stay on until a later age but they can still deny your family at anytime they want to.

There are some good points to ACA in general, but it still needs work. All this talk about nothing but repeal freaks me out. I don't want Congress to gridlock and get nothing done again for 2 years. Fix it, not repeal it.

I don't have VA coverage, and I don't currently have other healthcare either. I've no plans to change that due to the obamacare tax. Cost is a huge issue. Costs went skyhigh, and coverages decreased significantly. Basically, it's significantly cheaper for me to self insure and pay the obamacare fine. I'll still be getting all my families prescription meds, preventative care, and have enough leftover for 2 ER visits/1 broken bone or minor surgery.

Sgt Larson keep this in mind,
42 USC SS 18115: Freedom not to participate in Federal health insurance programs
It was written into the so called "ACA law" but you should think about this. If its supposed to be so great then why is Congress still exempt from it along with muslims, but its those same muslims that want to change the military standards but still enlist to get our AD bennies. Just some food for thought Big Sarge also you have the bennies already unless your still AD or had a dishonorable discharge. If you have questions their # is [login to see] & the website is iris.custhelp.com Staying with civi care is a good idea if you have any issues from AD because you don't have to go thru ALL the red tape & BS that goes along with getting your Disability Rating if you already have outside Dr's already verifying those issues beforehand.

I hope it take effect before my penalties in April. As of now, the tax code has me slotted to pay several hundred dollars in penalties for not signing up for any obamacare plans I didn't have the money to pay for.

That code was written into the bill before it became "law" plus you said that you already have insurance. If you wanna bypass the headache go2 your local VA hospital if there's one around you & get into the system but keep your regular ins if you have any issues from your AD days that you're seeing your Dr's about.

Agreed. I too, would not use the program. Its more costly then regular employer programs.

The government has no business running around telling me what I am and am not required to spend my money on. Obamacare is nothing but the government extorting the populace.

The problem is now the VA is telling us service connected older vets that if we have insurance, that we have to use it and our civilian primary care physician for our service connected disabities. That they are only there if we no longer have insurance.

That is interesting to hear, they had not told me that yet, but they did go out and find my ins and they charge my ins when i did my yearly check up

When you actually think about it the Obummercare is alot like the VA system headache except you don't have 2 b a Vet 2 get it. The only difference is you've gotta pay 4 it and you still get all the BS gov't red tape. Single "payer"system, gov't BS is more like it. "42 USC SS18115 - Freedom not to participate in Federal Health Insurance programs." was written into the law so, the only problem is when it fails miserably they're gonna bail it out tthen blame all the health insurance companies that it did. I look at it this way, they take out Medicare every paycheck then turn around n want you 2 pay 4 an insurance that they're gonna charge you 4 again anyway; lol duck tape, wd-40 n Ben-gay can fix alot of issues. I'm just saying I was a "DAT" in my day n Imma stay 1 till I'm relieved of duty and return to HQ's.
