77-year-old Jane Fonda was at the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick for a speaking engagement Friday.
Fonda told the audience she made a "huge mistake'' that led many to think she was against soldiers fighting in Vietnam, and it's something that she'll take to her grave. She says she understands their anger and that it makes her sad.
Fonda drew the ire of many Americans when she visited North Vietnam at the height of the Vietnam War, leading some to call her "Hanoi Jane.''

Some things are unforgivable. Actions have consequences and as I tell my children, "Sometimes Sorry is not enough." When you break a plate, sorry doesn't fix it....it's still broken.

She needs to be put on a service wide off limits list. Every time she makes the news she should be part of the weekend safety briefing reminding troops why she is on the list.

There isn't anything that traitor #@$%^# can say that will give Me even one once of respect for Her ! As a Viet Nam Veteran Myself I find the very sight of Her disgust Me ! She also had no idea at all what She was talking about and still hasn't learned anything. I could say a lot more but I'm trying not to swear !

I didn't join the military until 1978, Viet Nam was done. But I distinctly remember coming home on leave and some of my friends and acquaintances had a demonstrably bad attitude toward my service and treated me pretty poorly. At reunions now they are all a "big" supporters of the military and "always have been." They pretend they didn't do some of the disgusting things (bodily fluids, excrement, vandalism) to me and to my father's home to show their disapproval. I chose not to come home again for eight years. I will forgive if asked, (never has happened yet); but I will never forget.

I remember watching the news. And hearing that they were waiting for Jane Fonda to show. I didn't lean to later what a traitorous bitch/harpie she is.

I was in the military at the time, but she did upset my point of view about her. I can forgive her, but not forget what she did, I'm not her judge.
