I have blown the doors off of two porsches in my lifetime with other cars, the 1st time was on I-5 up in Wash State, I won but it cost me the car, my license, 1500 dollars, two pay grades, half a months pay for 3 months and my car a 70 Camaro....The 2nd time was over in Germany, I shoe horned a 5.0 built like no ones business and it was my Porsche Killer, It was a 85 Ford Capri...

Nope. Tesla's strategy requires other companies to roll out 'competing' products. Their tactical competition is not other car manufacturers it is the states and dealerships. Their operational competition is not the other car manufacturers, it's the internal combustion engine. Their Strategic competition is not other car manufacturers, it is the carbon fuel economy.

Making money isn't the goal, changing the world is. Making money gives them more leverage to work on changing the world. (And they're doing pretty good at making money too.)

The more other companies start making more EVs the more Tesla's strategy moves forward, that's why they released their patents .

I beg everyone on RallyPoint to take the (considerable) time to read the second link. IT makes things pretty clear, and is a great read!

I think that Porsche won't ever make an "affordable" version such as Tesla is saying they will here soon. I could definitely be wrong though and hope I am!

Porsche unveils its Tesla killer: Mission E can be charged simply by driving over a special tile and has a holographic dashboard controlled just by LOOKING at it
Four seater concept can go from zero to 100 km/h in under 3.5 seconds
Will still be slightly slower than Tesla's new 'ludicrus' mode
Can travel over 500 km on one charge using conductive system
Can be charged with enough energy for around 400 km more in 15 minutes

Looks great, but I'm a Cobra man (faithfully), and I see a problem if the owners of these vehicles need a sudden recharge and unlike Tesla who is building rapid charging stations across the country to broaden the range of the Tesla models, they're going to be SOL on the side of the road. Between this, the Tesla, or the McClaren.....I'm going to buy a house, a Shelby GT500 and build my Cobra to run 900WHP. I like the battery technology, but the issue I have with them is the proper disposal of them. Go from one evil pollution to another yet call the second one "green"?

SSG Warren Swan - I have owned six corvettes since 1962..But they don't handle too well in MA on the ice and snow. I spun out a few times and slid all over the ice & went through a few red lights. So I may have to trade in my Vette and get a Jeep or another four wheel drive car to get around MA.
