Please don’t go 11B! You got out and didn’t find anything as a 11B right? That’s your reason for enlisting again

I can't believe the bonuses right now to be honest! That is one of the MOS's that I'm keeping my eye on. My end goal is to go WO in the future so I, also, may be interested in enlisting into aviation and going from there.

Well 35T is a small mos. they can’t keep people in the mos because of the $80 to 120K jobs on the outside hence the bigger bonuses from being short. Also it’s a critical mos for warrant currently

I've been keeping my eye on the in/out sheets and the bonus mos's, and right now with 11B's being balanced I'm hoping it will be easier to reclass out of 11B. Fingers crossed.

It really depends on the “needs of the Army”, during the draw down a retread (prior service) was lucky if he was even allowed to come back in. But in the times of conflict and the need for bodies the choices open up. When I came back in in 2005, I walked right back into my old mos 31b (MP), and did not have to go back to training because I worked as a police officer. I was lucky

Thanks for the information MSG, I figured like most things it's going to be needs of the army. I have my fingers crossed that with all the critical Mos's right now and 11b being balanced that I'll be able to step into something. Regardless looking forward to getting back in. Thanks again MSG.

It's all about timing. I was active duty Army, MP (95B) and then had a long break in service. I later joined the Air Guard as Security Forces (3PO31) and didn't have to attend Basic or Tech school (Air Force AIT). I also kept my same rank. However, I was a civilian police officer also.

It was all timing. The Air Guard is filled with many former Army and Marines. Most of them had to attend Air Force Tech School. I got lucky.

SSG, did you get out of the Army entirely and then re-join and you were able to reclass? Thanks for the quick response.

SPC(P) (Join to see) - First time, I reclassed for an enlistment from Reserves to Active Duty, so I was considered Prior Service by the Recruiting Station. The second time, I was completely out and came back to reclass.

You don't have to wait to ReUp to get another MOS truthfully it really depends on the need for that second MOS you want. I had 2 troops, 1 PFC and 1 E2 that worked with me and I helped them complete the OJT to pick up the 2nd MOS. I was going to ETS soon and JAG had no one lined up to take my place. If there is a greater need for your new choice then you can either OJT if that's possible or extend your current enlistment and go to where ever they have the AIT for that new job.
