PCF was a facility that processed Deserter returnees as well as individuals who received either a Bad Conduct or Dishonorable Discharge as a result of a Courts-Martial. It was our responsibility to handle the disposition of these cases. For the Deserters this meant anything from a Field Grade 15 to a General Courts-Martial on the judicial side. Our unit processed approx. 350-450 returnees a month.
BCD and DD appellates who lived in the north eastern 13 states had the right to remain on active duty until the appeal process was completed. Our job was to handle any legal paperwork for any cases where they re-offended. Many had an attitude "I've been to Leavenworth, there's nothing you can do that ain't already been done." My response..."If you like it so much, I can send you back."
