92F is going to give you a wider variety of world wide assignments. Life after the Army is if you become an NCO and a petroleum expert there is work as n the outside. If you don't like fuel, then it is not the job for you. Doesn't matter where the assignments are.

88K and 88L are definitely interesting MOSs but as SFC (Join to see) said, there are limited places you can go. If you happen to,like those places, you could be in luck. Your qualifications are legit and can help you become a merchant mariner. When deployed you live and eat on the boat.

Dude, barracks are barracks. Don't make a career decision on what a barracks may or may not be like.

In addition Sir, if you make your way up into the senior and warrant officer ranks as a 88K, the sea time and licenses you acquire can set you up to be a tug, commercial captain and more! All the licenses you attain are coast guard certified.

The cons are that you will not get a class seat for either 88L or 88K. Pick an MOS with a larger pool of people and you’ll have a better chance at getting a class seat

I've seen this response for quite a few MOSs on here lately. Are things just perpetually backed up on the AD side, or is COVID causing issues? Or are people just choosing these jobs because they are cool and mysterious due to low density?

CPT (Join to see) jobs are filled on a first come first serve basis. Reclass only gets a tiny portion of those jobs. Jobs like 88K,L or 31K and most other low density MOS will only offer a couple of class seats a year that get snatched up within seconds of looking. At any time there are about a thousand Career Counselors all looking at the same class seats in our system.
