90 days prior to your course start date you will receive your training follow on PCS assignment. The report date following your AIT will typically be more than 30 less than 60 days after training. That's not always the case, but a good rule of thumb. That's your opportunity to take leave.

SSG (Join to see) if you drive to your AIT, you're not taking leave, you are on TDY reporting to training. That is travel time.
A lot of that depends on where you are on assignment to and if you have family. That all gets explained in the levy brief.

SSG (Join to see) since no one else has reclassed, they might not know this -
Once you get your physical orders in hand, you need to take them to your DTS section of your battalion. You will need a manual 1610 to travel. You absolutely will not/must not use DTS for your travel. DTS is used to pay for your voucher if you are TDY and return. You will be TDY Enroute and will file your voucher at your PCS location.
Even if you are authorized to return and clear, you are still TDY Enroute. Don't get that mixed up or you may have a lot of trouble with your PCS.

SSG (Join to see) what is your course completion date and your report date? If there is no time between the two, then you'll have to report the gaining unit and Request leave with the gaining unit.

If you don't have accrued leave to take, then they'll adjust your Report date earlier and give you proceed time to get from A to B.

Not sure I understand the question.

SSG (Join to see) - it's up to your current command to approve leave, you'll need some amount of proceed time if they don't. The Governement will almost always want to compare it to the constructive cost of air travel, which is almost always same day arrival in CONUS.

Put in a leave form With your orders.
