Ok, one of the things that I like about hunting season is that I get to go through all my army gear, find what I want for hunting an I get to wear it for a week. No going to cabela's for me, The Army gave me all I need. Who else uses Military Gear for Hunting.
Adendem: Now I know none of you active folks misappropriat that fine military field gear for hunting. LOL

I don't use my Army gear...I use gear that once belonged to the Army but has been decommissioned or was privately purchased, really.

MSG Brad Sand, pretty much what I mean as well. We know after many years of service, and every CIF turn in, we have purchased new to replace old so that we do not have to go through the hassle of dealing with the CIF guys. Glad you clarified.

I've used military gear in the past for hunting, camping, etc...but over time I've found that there's a lot of better stuff out there. This does not mean that ANYTHING will ever replace a poncho liner or boonie hat.

Was tearing up my house today, to find my poncho liner. Boonie hat was already packed.

My poncho liner is easy to find...much to my wife's dismay, it stays tucked neatly behind a sofa pillow

@SGT Richard Hanner Command let me keep mine after I was injured and I still use it regularly to this day.

SPC David Shaffer The one I had in the Army wore out many years ago and was replaced by another one from the surplus store...which was replaced by a 3rd one when it got too tattered. Something that good is just worth replacing!
