MSG James Crowell I am in the same boat, it is low priority. However, if you got a pending claim in and your dependents are on your claim and your not getting paid. It (award) when approved you will get your back pay. That's the situation I am in currently.

MSG James Crowell ok, yea I see what's going on, I would get a VA Attorney, the VA does not like to pay back pay for all those years.

that comes to $348,720 and they don't give any interest on the money they owe you but if you are ever late paying them for the meds more then 90 days they treated you with taking your money from you that you are trying to feed your family with

How long does it take to add an SO and children to your VA ward? I was told I may be able to get it in 2 to 3 years.

When I needed to add my husband the fastest way I found was to go to the ebenefits website (http://www.ebenefits.va.gov). I uploaded a scanned copy of our marriage certificate and everything was taken care of in a matter of days.

It seems like the VA is geared more to dealing with things like this through electronic communication than by using paper copies of things like birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc. When you send in paper copies, they too often end up in a heap that seems like it's three miles high.

If you're not already on ebenefits, you can create a logon and open your account in a couple of different ways, each designed to provide easiest access depending on whether you're active duty or a vet. I was amazed at all the different things I could accomplish on that site, and they didn't pay me to say that. Although it isn't perfect it's been very useful to me. You might give it a try.
