I have a RE 4 code and im trying to get back into the army. I know its rare but im trying for it. I had a honorable discharge from active duty after 6 years with no bad incidents. Afterwards I joined the infantry for national guard. While in for only 3 months I had some issues where I was living. I moved to another city and after a while thats when they cut me. Granted I should have made more calls to get it started, but i was salty about how national guard operated. And i was also young and dumb. Does anyone have any advice as to how to get this reduced to a RE 3 code? I know I messed up, but there has to be a work around. Im not a bad soldier.

Okay - RE Code 4 cannot be waived by the recruiting command. Your only recourse is to apply to the Army Discharge Review Board. You can get advice for this from the VA. Try looking at this article: https://arba.army.pentagon.mil/adrb-overview.html

Also, ive had a recruiter turn me away fron it without really looking into my situation. If that happens should I just keep trying different recruiters until one helps me?

SPC Patrick Lumpkin - You will probably get that from most recruiters.
A waiver for RE4 has about a 2-5% chance of approval.
The Army Board of Corrections can change your RE code only if you can provide proof that the RE code was an error.
