Hillary Clinton claims that there were Muslims in America since George Washington was President. Is there any validity to this claim?

You see, since the statement was made from a person whom is known to bend the truth, you have to know the field on which you are playing......too bad we don't really have Pinocchio noses, it'd show when people were full of shit.

Bottom line is that it's really all in the perspective of the one making the statement......there are more than 100 people called George Washington in our country right now.....so this liar can claim innocence or "I didn't mean the first President" when you ask her questions like "did you wipe or have the servers wiped" and when she replies - "you mean with a cloth?" well, she is masterful at the art of deception, deceit and diversion so I don't trust a damned word from her.

There is nothing incorrect about the portion of Hillary Clinton's dialogue quotes in this thread.

Without checking all the facts, I would say it's possible. Early slave traders and the captains of some slave ships were Muslims. The "Arabs" captured Black Africans, who themselves may have been Muslim, and sold them into slavery. Some of those slave traders may have made the trip to North America or the Caribbean with their charges to collect the proceeds from the ultimate sale of the Africans. Shameful business, but it might have brought Muslim slave traders to the US--or parts of North America that would become the US--during the 1700s. The second POTUS learned a lot about Muslims during the Barbary Pirates conflict in the early 1800s.

Yup, there have been Muslims in America from the very beginning. A few examples:
Who could ever forget George "Mohammad" Washington; Ben "Ali" Franklin; William "Abdul" Penn; the sewing of the American Flag by Betsy "Aroob" Ross and that terrible winter when George "Mohammad" Washington crossed the Euphrates River to rout the Kurdish Army at the Casbahs in Trenton..

Clinton is correct that there were Muslims in the early days of the United States – she doesn’t mention that many of them were slaves, and that George Washington likely claimed ownership of Muslims. Another slave-owning founder was Thomas Jefferson, whose Qur’an has entered congressional lore. Both Jefferson and Washington preached tolerance of religions, Islam included.
