Brave
“It was very courageous and brave, if not crazy as well, to open fire on the police headquarters, and now you have this scene, this standoff," Fredricka Whitfield said Saturday to CNN legal analyst Philip Holloway.

Why do reporters/anchors chose these words? More importantly, why do news outlets and society allow this to continue? Referring to terrorists as courageous and brave may spur more people to want to be called the same...by doing the same.

As a Dallas Police Officer for my civilian job I can tell you that her comments have offended all 3500 Dallas officers. Our job is tough enough these days without people making statements like this. I know that if I were to make a statement like this on national news I would not have a job anymore....

Exactly SGM, it is a shame what this country is changing into. Personal accountability is a thing of the past...

MAJ (Join to see) Hang tough brother. This is for you and all those like you. Consider the source of the insult. Diarrhea straight from the mouth of an ass. Nothing but love for all you first responders.

SFC Merino, that's exactly what we were saying.... its a shame that the guy there with her didn't address it with his comments. We appreciate the support.

Here we have a classic example of that is wrong with "Journalism" in America today. Whatever happened to the days of "responsible reporting"?

Those days are long gone. In today's so-called journalism we are told what to think. The weak minded viewers fall for everything and the media thrives on that.

MSgt Steven Holt, NRP, CCEMT-P, it's a stretch to even classify her comments as journalism, and most certainly it is not responsible reporting!

All I could do was shake my head on her. A man is firing rounds at the Dallas Police Department, and the cops, he's courageous! Yup, she's thinking, brother, give me a break

I'm sure she's going to say something like her words were taken out of context.

Fredricka Whitfield: CNN Anchor Calls Dallas Gunman's Actions 'Courageous and Brave'

For the same reason that lopping off genitalia is considered "courageous and brave." These reporters are insane. If they really believe this, they are clearly nuts. If they are saying it just to make us crazy and get their ratings up by getting us talking about it, they are dispicable. Either way, I remain completely confused as to what they consider courageous and brave. I have a much different opinion. I miss the days when the news was 1/2 hour twice a day. No time fr media spinning, no time for fake/made-up news to fit an agenda, just 30 minutes of the very most important stuff and then see you tomorrow. Now, 24/7 news has really turned our country's view of newsworthy upside down. War continues around the world, but Bruce Jenner takes up 1/2 the day. People who have 17 kids, multiple wives, and make their way in life on behalf of the taxpayers don't get seen as immoral, they get their own reality tv show. Stop the planet, it's time for me to get off.

I expect nothing "less" from some of the mouthpieces on the "Communist News Network"...I honestly am not sure when we regressed or devolved to the point that an individual or group that stages this kind of attack if feted as being "courageous and brave" by anyone in the media. I die a little inside whenever I see/hear/read some of the stupid comments that come out the mouths of people on all the media outlets in response to this and other acts of stupidity. SMFH......

Another shameless attempt to drive up ratings and to stir up publicly for that network. I personally don't understand what she was trying to do other than what I mentioned. That kind of journalism rubs me the wrong way but it is the nature of the beast.

I don't know what has happened to this nation, but apparently we don't understand what "heroism" "bravery" and "courage" really are. In the Jenner thread, I mentioned that by definition what he did was "courageous", but did not even boarder on "heroic". What the criminal who shot up a police station did was treacherous, devious, cowardly... courageous are the cops who responded and brought the situation to an end with a minimal loss of life.

Some of this is for ratings...They have no audience to speak of and try to draw the fringe in. Some of them a re true believers that America is bad, the system is rigged against them, unfair and needs to be changed even if violently. They seem to be outer edge today, that will not be the case in a few years. Much like many things we thought would not happen in America, we are moving there quickly.

The problem for CNN is the people they are appealing to are not watchers of news. They are listeners of propaganda. They get their news from radical leftist websites that spew anti-American propaganda. Hence, CNN, MSNBC and other cable news channels on the left are dying a slow painful death.
