If you are really into Fitness Training, a Fitbit can help you to stay motivated by tracking your progress. It can also be linked to your PC, and Cell Phone..

Suggestion for those having issues with the FitBit Flex - if, for some reason, the Flex isn't connecting with the wristband, remove the bit and put it in your pocket. It'll register the steps taken. Just don't forget where you put the thing. SECOND - FitBit is great at replacing defective units, broken straps, etc, and they'll send the replacement out free (my favorite price). You'll have it in a week or so

1SG Michael Blount my Charge's battery was draining too fast and because of my syncs they proved there was a problem. I got my new one in 3 days, no charges or whatsoever. GREAT service!

I use the Map My Run app on my phone, but I haven't looked much into the fit bit. Does it track anything more than the normal stuff during run/bike rides? (I.e. heart rate, time, distance, elevation, etc)

As I remember, sir, the FitBit Flex just keeps track of steps, calories - the basics. Things like FitBit Charge and the upper end stuff will give you all the information you want and sing a tune, too.

I'd caveat that saying that if you're really into fitness training you probably don't need the fitbit to keep you motivated ;).

I actually think there is a huge use and market for them however, and have considered getting one myself. I also realized iphones have a built in similar tracking mechanism recently though.

Us old guys need to be motivated LCDR. The Fitbit helps sometimes. The spirit is willing but the old Bod is not on some days..

I wear mine constantly. It's a great way to remind myself to get up and walk around at my desk job. I'm starting running again after 24 years and UGH I suck at it....

1SG Michael Blount - I learned in the Marines that just weight lifting is not going to get you to be lean and mean which is what my XO wanted. So I increased our morning runs from 1 mile every AM to 3 miles and on our Weekend Speed hikes I was out front of the company and really set a face pace... And a few guys were so pissed they challenged me to take off my stripes and take them on in a fight. I kicked one guy's butt so bad that ended that nonsense..

I would have to say yes. I enjoying seeing how many steps I've walked/ran after I've done a workout. Its just fun to add up the totals at the end of the week and see how many miles I put in. It motivates me to do more and keep going. I make a game out of it.

LTC Hillary Luton - I just began Spinning & Fitbit & Pro Form EX Bike are not in sync.. So not sure how accurate either are?? Or they are just rough estimates for distance, BPM, Calories, & etc..

Sgt Tom Cunnally - I would say from my experience, they are more estimates. I use my Striiv and then use a gps program on my phone. They are rarely if ever in sync. I trust the gps more then the Striiv.

LTC Hillary Luton - My EX Bike Computer Display tracking data is all over the place & probably not very accurate. Pro Form suggested I subscribe to IFit & use their software on the Pro Form Computer Display but I think I will stay with Fitbit.....

Sgt Tom Cunnally - I like using Google Maps and Navigation while riding my motorcycle - good alternative to a dedicated GPS. Also nice to see if messages are important or not while driving.

A few years back a man posted those sport watches records that are open source online.
He positioned our fleets , mapped out entire secret military installations , and troop movements in war zones. Really smart exposing our national security wearing ( or even having them for sale on ships) China thanks you.

I use the FitBit Charge. Helpful in tracking all of our MCCES class runs. Hasn't died because of sweat yet... good enough for me.
