Most of the issues that I have had to deal with have diminished or have gotten easier to deal with over time except 2 ... any type of large crowds or confined spaces...most of the time I would change the time I go to certain places...like shopping or a movie theater for example....going to the late or early shows...or going when most people don't go....2 other things that bothered me significantly when I first got back...loud noises (backfires, door slams. fireworks etc) and waking up looking for my weapon...I practically had that with me 24/7 for nearly a year...coming home was an adjustment...one other thing that has surfaced lately is getting snappy and irritated easily...I have a hard time dealing with stupidity and inefficiency and have gotten angry at folks...best thing to do is walk away....I still have a hard time dealing with it...exercise helps as well as well as prayer/meditation, talking with family and/or mental health professionals. I go to my mental health provider regularly now...

MAJ (Join to see) I agree sir. I also have a hard time dealing with stupid self absorbed people. Loud bangs still startle me, and loud base music drives me up a wall. I get anxious in a crowd.

Watching a movie with lots of gory blood in it. I just don't watch them any more or I look away. I especially don't watch them when I'm about to go to sleep. It might be fake but it is real to me.

I think pleasant thoughts like me playing with my kids and focus on my breathing. I refuse to let whatever is causing the overwhelming emotional response come back into focus. That happiness of memories like playing with my kids, and the annoyance I feel at being triggered usually help me get back into a balanced state fairly quickly.
