In my opinion, no don't do away with the skirt and heels. If a female service member wanted to wear her service uniform to a military function, I feel that she should have the option to either wear the skirt or wear the pants.

One thing I've learned over time regarding attire is to "Dress for the job or situation."

My second statement. This time I will address the picture. What I saw first: Five professionals and and a civilian. What I saw second: Their pride in what they accomplished whatever it may be. Third: The question-"Do you believe..." Fourth: I look down again and see they are all women. Still professional and proud. Fifth: 3 skirts and 3 slacks only because of the title. Didn't care before that. Finally: They are beautiful, respectable, and accomplished. They are all leaders and/or supporters of the greatest military this world has ever known past and present. Oh yeah, what was this about again? Skirts? Give me a break. Long tradition, they are professional enough to chose for themselves.

I think ALL service members should have the same hair standards. That would create unity.

SSG Dennis Grossmann - How do you know - you might! I am truly an optimist. I have been completely bald, and discovered I have a very nicely shaped head. The time I saved from not having to wash and condition my hair was unbelievable. I did not have to brush it either (it was 22 inches long when I cut it all off). Do not knock it until your try it.

CSM (Join to see) - I'm sorry CSM, but I'm not (how do I say this without offending) flamboyant enough for a man bun. I did rock the long hair (18" give or take) during my break in service,I was told I looked like a fat Eddie Vetter when Pearl Jam was big.

Are you suggesting females should have to wear a high and tight? Or that males should be able to have longer hair?
The idea is to maintain a professional outward appearance. Is the pulled back bun not professional enough in appearance? I know for myself, this gives a cleaner appearance (pulled back and slick) than some high and tights I've seen. I've also had very short hair and found the upkeep much more extensive (misshapen in the morning, unable to wet down and pull back)...
I only ask because I've seen this "suggestion" several times, but I really don't see the purpose served with the suggestion.
Do you honestly feel that the male/female Soldier cohesion would be facilitated if all hair was the same?
