Did you know there are networks available for your pet if you are deploying?

Organizations have gathered volunteers to care for deploying military member's pets. Many volunteers consider it their way of helping support Soldiers while they are deployed. Deploying soldiers don't have to abandon their pets or give them up to shelters, there are other options.
Some of the names of these organizations are:
Dogs On Deployment
Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pet
PACT for Animals (Military Foster Program)

CPT (Join to see) thanks for the thread, I will past this on to some active duty members I know at JBLE.

CPT (Join to see) Thank you for sharing this vital message. I ended up caring for the dog of a deployed soldier. As I grew to care for the animal, I dreaded having to return him. The Soldier returned only to PCS, so, at his insistence, (and to my great relief) I became the dog's new owner. It is a decision that I have never regretted, and I provide regular progress reports. Your "Foster" programs are a better idea, as no one gets too attached while the deployed SM is away.

PVT Robert Gresham I know how hard that can be. I fostered one for a year, I still think about him and miss him.

I've heard of these programs and have had a couple Battles, who gave them accolades for the care that was provided for their pets while deployed. Good Share.
