The Coast Guard station in Grand Haven, Michigan, was evacuated today after a man called in saying he was going to blow it up with a bomb in his truck.
Just after 6 a.m., a man made a call "claiming he had a bomb in his truck and was going to blow up Station Grand Haven," the Coast Guard said in a news release.
As the station was being evacuated, a man drove a truck through the gate and broke into the building. The suspect, identified only as a 34-year-old man, was apprehended and taken into custody.
His truck was searched by Michigan State Police bomb technicians and no explosives were found.
No injuries were reported and the building has been deemed safe, the Coast Guard said.
The investigation is ongoing, the Director of Public Safety in Grand Haven said.
It was initially investigated as an act of domestic terrorism, but so far no link to terorism or any terrorist organization, officials said.
The Grand Haven Department of Public Safety was being assisted in the investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, Michigan State Police, the Coast Guard, FBI, and Bureau of Alcohol/Tobacco/Firearms.

It's a dangerous world out there, glad no one was hurt. Sounds like we have at least one more lunatic off the street. Semper Patatus to our fine Grand Haven brethren, Semper Paratus.
