Can veterans wear earned medals on approved civilian attire?
I am the best man in a friends wedding coming up at the end of the year. I think it would be very sharp to wear my ribbons and medals I have earned on my suit. I have been trying to get a definitive answer but I have found some conflicting answers online. I've been reading Army Regulation 670-1 but I would like to hear some advice from other veterans and service members. Thank you for your input!

You can wear them. My only thought is that if you wear them it may take attention away from the couple getting married. Just a thought.

I would ask the Bride and Groom if they are OK with it as well. The Best Man role is a centerpiece in the ceremony and dress can and should be dictated by the couple getting married. Afterwards at the reception - I'd say your call.

Yes you can wear them....However to be fully legit and in line with 670-1 the wedding should be a military one.
My daughters wedding was a military one and they asked that I wear my uniform to give her away. I have also been asked to wear my uniform serving as a pal bearer for a veterans funeral.
I have never worn my awards on my suit coat as my uniform still fits well and I don't look like a slob in it.
Personally unless the groom is wearing his decorations, or I was specifically asked to, I wouldn't wear them as it may draw attention from the Bride and Groom on what is their special day.

One must be proud to lead this way. I love the idea of a county full of vets wear their awards daily, reminding the masses we still have there backs no matter what this grazed government of OUR creation shall do. I would love to see that photo of you in all your glory posted for us to advance to ...to dream about. To follow our glory. From homeless to the white house. Veteran unite.

I think miniatures are best suited if you plan on wearing them on a civilian suit.

Why even bought them. I also wear them on the light blue shirt under the jacket if I plan to spend most of the time without the jacket.
