Barksdale just got a new Command Chief for the Bomb Wing a few months ago.

I have to say, I have never see a rack this large on a non-AFSOC type guy and even then, I think he has them topped.

My first reaction was "holy ribbon rack batman!!"

My understanding is that some branches receive awards for things accomplished that other branches do not. Perhaps I'm wrong.

Looks like they had to photo shop out the guy that was holding the rest of his medals.

He started as cop, then crosstrained to C-130 Loadmaster and found himself in AFSOC, USSOCOM, and the contingency response community. He's got forward deployments from his forward-deployed forward deployments.

Im looking and see that the bronze star is his second highest. I didn't realize there were so many medals subordinate to that. He must have about 3 services represented there.

I count 38 and it looks like he could of stacked them 4 across all the way to the top, but instead made it look taller by his set up. 38 ribbons and two badge...I wish I could see this guy's bio .

SSG(P) (Join to see) I guess that depends on how you define "most decorated". I always hear Col Bud Day and CMSgt Duane Hackney as most "decorated" but I am sure their "racks" are smaller, but are more "top heavy"

Humm...someone changed the title to something a bit more inflammatory than my original one of "ribbon racks"

I had just met my new boss at my last unit - I was an E-9, she's an O-4, we're both in dress uniform. Like any good military member, I glanced at her ribbons as she spoke with a couple other people, and my brain had a huge fart... something didn't make sense. FINALLY, I figured it out - she was an O-4, and she was wearing a Good Conduct ribbon!

I made note of it, to ask her about it later, and I suddenly realized the whole group was looking at me. She asks, "Is there a problem, Master Chief?"

I told her the truth...

"No, Ma'am. I'm just checking out your rack."

Cue the uproarious laughter and I turned every shade of red imaginable. I stuttered and stammered, and then realized that she was laughing her ass off as well.

Eventually, the reason for my confusion came out, and she laughingly explained that she was a Mustang (E-5, got busted to O-1). She turned out to be a VERY cool boss to work for.

And, as a quick aside, evolution had blessed her with a very good body. This could have been a career killer for me.

Here's what I have after almost 9 years. I don't think I will be anywhere near this. In my career field SNCOs rarely get more than 5 rows.

We have marksmanship badges, service stripes for enlisted soldiers, and overseas service bars for deployed service in combat theaters. Services and overseas stripes are worn on sleeves by the cuff. We also wear our unit decorations on the left over the name tags and under the regimental unit insignia.
