Yes.
It's tough to come up with a plan for 14 to 60 days of extra duty without taking someone else's place on the DA-6 for CQ, or taking the beginning of everyone's shift through 2000 every day..
All in all, CQ is better than digging fighting positions and filling them in every day.

I had a 1SG in the 82nd whose choice of punishment was digging holes in Area J where the soil is packed clay and gravel. The first time you're late it's 3x3x3. Next time it's 4x4x4. The third time it's 5x5x5. Nobody was ever late more than three times lol

One time in the field I had nothing better to do so I jumped into the fighting position and starting digging. The look of the Finance soldiers faces was priceless. They looked like they saw a ghost. I had fun teaching them how to use the TRP method on the defense to help them paint the engagement area easily. 6 enemy soldiers 200 meters TRP 2. It was so simple and efficient that the method is beautiful. That is the same methodology we used as tankers.

I had a 1SG who had a paint locker (wall locker) that needed to be buried frequently. Its like when your wife gets new furniture and you get to rearrange it 'til its right.

SSG Paul Headlee How many Soldiers spent time in that buried wall locker?

1978, Camp Roberts, CA. Escape and Evasion Course conducted by 2/17 Inf, 7th ID. A failed Escapee stated that he had been in such a wall locker before - for a while. He got a Go!

SSG (Join to see) Aren’t Charge of Quarters Duty Assignments supposed to be made from a DA 6, aka Duty Roster? My duty rosters would always withstand close scrutiny for equality of duty assignments.

The entries on my duty rosters were always in pencil, until the duty had been performed! Then that entry was overwritten in ink!

That and staff duty are supposed to be off DA 6. But it doesn't always happen.

Yes. Nearly anything can be a corrective training. There is no such thing as punishment officially in the Army anymore.

Yes there is. But only the commander can issue punishment, which is generally the result of UCMJ action. NCOs manage corrective training.
