Both my significant other and I will be at the same base for basic training. Will I be able to send her letters?

In june I will be shipping out to fort jackson to go to basic training. She will be leaving a week eirler than me and I was wondering if you can send letters to other soldiers on base, or if i will have to mail it to her parents who in turn will have to mail it back to her.

Of course you can. If you have a mailing address and a stamp that letter will get delivered by the post man. The only thing I can tell you is it will prob still go through the sorting process of Post so it would still take a couple of days.

I truthfully do not know how mliltary mail works, is it like there is an central office and we are the "mailboxes" per say?

I see nothing wrong with writing letters to each other. You won't get into trouble over it.

Cadet CPT (Join to see) there would be no reason why you shouldnt be able to write letters to your significant other and send them directly. Is there some reason you know of why that would not be OK?

I didnt know if it would be ok or not, i was thinking since it wiuld be in the same base there would be some hoops for me to jump through. I did some research and never acutly dug up any real information on it. Ive been on here looking at what hapens in basic training and how military life realy is, and decided that it would be easiest to ask a question than to keep digging! And i really appreciate the reply!
