Besides my unit POC, who else can I go to in order to find a Motorcycle Safety Course?

I’m trying to get a Motorcycle Safety course done so I can ride legally. My unit POC doesn’t help so I’m wondering who else I can go to to get a class?

Head down to the provost office and ask the MPs if they can tell you when the next motorcycle training is. They probably know.

SPC (Join to see) are you near a military installation? Your profile has minimal information. Call the Installation Safety Office and see if you can piggy back on an upcoming class.

The Carson website has a link to the training classes. https://www.carson.army.mil/organizations/safety.html

There was nothing listed on the calendar. I tried calling the safety office but no answer. Guess I’ll have to walk in

Try getting a hold of your State Safety NCOIC/OIC. I'm not sure if its true for all states, but I know mine had an influx of funds not long ago they were looking to spend. If you unit POC isn't responding, in your company area there should be a safety board posted with all the applicable info.

My company boards have me and our POC for the Motorcycle stuff. Doesn’t make any sense to why I’m on there since I’m not licensed. I haven’t received any training either. I found out from looking on the board.

I was referencing a general safety information board. This board should include higher headquarters (BN/BDE/DIV or State) POC information buried among safety meeting notes and signs/pictures about safety related information. This board should also have a appointment memo listing who your unit safety representative/alternate is/are who looking at how you worded your original posting is the one dodging your query. If so your next move would to be towards the admin staff who should be able to assist in numbers and names, unless they are one and the same as your safety POC.

Usually you can take a local motorcycle safety course given by the DMV or city. Ask the family readiness section they should be able to tell you of local classes.

SPC (Join to see) - That part I don't know...I don't ride a motorcycle so I'll be honest I was only paying half attention in that brief...

SPC (Join to see) - If you take a motorcycle safety course outside of the military you will have to pay for it. I took the course outside of the military and it was well worth the money and time. It saved my butt a number of times. The course I took was two and a half days on the weekend. Check with motorcycle dealers and ask about the course. They should have information about who does the course and where they are located.
