I also think he should face the death penalty, if convicted, he should face the same penalty as anyone being convicted in a war time situation. Hung by the neck until DEAD!!

He caused the deaths of his fellow unit members who were looking for him. Last i checked, that means the death penalty

I think he deserves the death penalty for treason and aiding the enemie . And to actually go through with it instead of just seating on death row for ever. He should be hung and done publicly to show others wanting to do the same betrayel to our country what they will recieve instead of praise. He has distroied so many lives.

Definitely not a fan. My old PL was in charge of one of the missions to look for this.......person. Nothing like getting infrmation from the horses mouth, so to speak. God forgives, but on this plane we have justice, and it demands the harshest penalty than is allowed to be imposed.

And there, but for the Grace of God, those in the same situation as Mr. Bergdahl remained faithful to their brothers and despite great adversity refused to abandon their post and their brothers... Sgt Ramon Nacanaynay

Most importantly, those in the same situation as Mr. Bergdahl kept their oath to their country.

i dont agree the best punishment life without parole let him sit there and think abvout it for the rest of his life, yes i'll get negative answers but i was in iraq when the sgt shot up the combat stress clinic before i could go there

I think it is too early to be discussing punishment, but I'm certainly glad that he has finally been charged and will be facing a court martial.
Now, if the members of that court martial find him guilty, I can think of only one fitting punishment . . .

War is not Hell. In Hell everyone is bad. In War everyone is a victim including soldiers. Executing Bowe could make him a martyr. There are things worse than death and one of them is War. As long as there are wars there will always be desertions. 22 veterans committing suicide each day is my proof.

a martyr to who cowards. He singed up he know what he was getting into he went over and then left his PLT when thing got hard. Not when things were easy. Also these veterans are committing suicide far from the battle field some soldiers find the battle field a known place and the problems come from leaving. I find redeploying harder then deploying.

Allow him due process just like any of us would and should receive. Then if he's found guilty, punish him very harshly. Life w/o parole at Leavenworth should send a strong signal that the UCMJ means something.
