Army approves hormone therapy for Manning. My question is, will the Army pay for for the same thing for an active duty member (serving honorably)?

Rhetorical question.

So, why start with a "Soldier" serving 35 years?

This is absolutely wrong, in every way possible. If PVT Manning want's be change genders when / if he ever gets out of prison, then good for him. But to have the military pay for it, while we are already hit hard with budget constraints seems like a waste of money to me.

Absolutely! I just cannot believe that they are going to support someone in prison over the rest of us who have served honorably... I never even expected anyone to pay for it for me, I just want the military to allow me to do it and I can't even get that.

Maj Brian Oberg- Will Manning get out? I would have thought his sentence is life. Not being nit picky but I remember when gender referred to grammar, mine is terrible, and sex meant 1 of 3 things make, female or having a good time.
