This election year is turning out to be the worst one in my life time. I hope to never live to see another election like this ever. I am really embarrassed about how not only the candidates act but also the public. While I will still vote on funding items for schools, parks, and things of that nature I will not be voting in the Presidential election. Is anyone else feeling like this?

SSG (Join to see), if you think this is bad you should have seen the elections in the '60s and '70s when the Dems were trying to undermine our troops and were carrying the flags of our enemy in their protests. It got so bad that when we had congressmen visiting our site we had to scrub the status boards and post realistic looking but false information. We could not show them anything that we would not willingly show the enemy - because that is where it was going to be leaked. Even by our elected representatives.
But in such toxic political atmospheres our votes are especially important. The duty of a citizen, like the duty of a soldier, is not always pleasant, but it is always critically important.

This is one of the worst ever. But you have to find the good in the bad. We have a "candidate" who is showing how fake the process really is, how fake the candidates are, and how little power the leaders of a party turn out to be. I believe after all is said and done, campaigning in the traditional sense is dead and gone. I believe we've opened Pandoras bpx when it comes to unprofessionalism and what you can say without repercussions. Hold onto your butts...it's only going to get worse before it gets better.

How big is Pandora's box? That's what worries me. They have defenitely crossed all the lines here. What will be the breaking point? And to top it off what's going to happen when each party selects their candadites and then THAT will start.

I'd say that just about every American is embarrassed by all or part of this year's process.
Seems like the only way that some candidates can get traction is to attempt vilification of their opponents.
And there are definitely villains in the process.

Well, I have been around for a few elections. I don't think I have ever seen as much supply of ones to vilify.
