PO3 (Join to see) Louis Farrakhan is up to his old antics, it's about him and not the true meaning of the march.

Everything you need to know about Farrakhan, even if you didn't know anything about him, would be abundantly clear within moments of him starting to talk. The man is a hate-filled hustler who has made his living railing against the "Man". He hasn't really been relevant for a long time, so he ups the ante in his choice of wording to ensure attention.

but then, why seemingly he is gaining strength and support? Did you ever see a gathering of comparable size of this? I do ... but to think that they are as equal strength as the gathering I am part of is very scary thought.

People like the idea that it is someone else's fault that their circumstances are what they are. While there is some truth in this notion, Farrakhan's brand is to demand things that won't possibly happen. The visuals of lots of supporters is the only thing that makes him relevant, and makes him out to be a "leader" who must be part of the discussion.
It is a self-licking ice cream cone.

I didn't pay much attention, PO3 (Join to see), but I read the article you posted, and it is of concern. The author says "many conservatives are trying to paint it [Black Lives Matter] as a hate group." Well, now, if any other group went around calling for the killing of police, there would be hell to pay.
This paragraph of the article is especially alarming:
More disturbingly, this summer, in what the Nation of Islam’s newspaper, The Final Call, called a "trip South to promote the 'Justice or Else!' gathering," Farrakhan said at a Florida church: "If the federal government will not intercede in our affairs, then we must rise up and kill those who kill us, stalk them and let them feel the pain of death that we are feeling."

I live in Northern VA and am familiar with the million man march first in 1995 and then again in 2015 PO3 (Join to see). I was glad the weather was good for the march and there was no significant violence associated with it. I was saddened that Louis Farrakhan spoke at the event. I had hoped we would have heard the last from him many years ago and sad that he seems to have people interested in his tired old "message."

SSgt Alex Robinson - the number had been at least confirm by the national park estimate. They no longer give out actual estimate nowadays, because politician don't want to be pressure by "numbers". In that sense, it at least a few hundred thousand ... at least ..

PO3 (Join to see) It amazes me that anyone would pay attention to such a bigoted ass. Yet they do. He is attempting to blackmail the United States, and should be punished for that. "I want this, or else...."
He has been preaching this toxin for decades.

Seemingly we the good American can't do anything about them at all ... and only watching them slowly destroying this country. at least that how I feel ... and yes i am doing something ... but don't know it will help that much at all.
