Is it just me, or does it seem like there are more scholarships for dependents and spouses then active-duty servicemembers or Veterans?

Agreed, I believe that most people think GI Bill covers active duty military. Of course it does when you are out.

Make sure to do the foot work to get the FTA. If you get FTA now, then you can get another 4250$ when OCT fiscal year hits. Next, find out if your state has a program, your HOR state. WI has 128 credits free at state schools. TX has something similar as well as IL. Third, a little secret I don't mind letting out of the bag, Quad A, so AAAA the Army Aviation Association of America is for our aviation community and scholarships go out to us and the family members that apply. Sometimes there is competition. Other things to think about is the regulations set forth that schools can only charge $250/credit max if they are accepting FTA. This helps reduce costs. If you are a high-speed E5 and want to show off, you can go to an at your own pace school where they hold minimums but no maximums. In other words, if you want to be billy-badass with the books you can go to WGU.EDU and pay something like $2850/6 month semester for bachelors, and $3250 for a masters. FTA will pay for all of it and you can earn a Baccalaureate in 6 months to a year, and a masters in 6 months with the right dedication. Use the heck out of ALMS and ATTRS.
