I am currently in the Army Reserve as a Chaplain. I applied to go Active Duty and got selected by the board to go Active. But before getting selected the brigade general decided not to release me with my conditional release. So I am in awkward situation and my battalion is telling me to resubmit my conditional release.
I need to move forward going Active but this conditional release is getting in the way.
Do you know what the future holds in my situation? Is it something I need to worry about or am I going Active Duty.

If your DD368 Conditionally Release was denied by the first GO in your chain of command, you are still in the Reserve Component and not going AD. If you resubmit, it's going to the same GO for decision. What will be different?

I am assuming your packet was endorsed By the chain of command up to the GO level. Did you get any feed back on why it was disapproved?

I recommend you hand walk your packet back up and request an office call with the GO who is the approval authority. Be prepared to have an eye watering brilliant reason for going AD. The RCs get nothing from giving up their people to go AD. This is a strength management thing.

Yes I did turn in everything. I also got a memorandum stating that the board selected me to go active duty and my battalion has asked me to attach that my conditional release. I am supposed to go to CHBOLC as a Active component next year and with a rank as a Captain. But still waiting for the Conditional Release to be signed. Just wondering if Active overrides Reserve side in my situation.

CH (1LT) (Join to see) you’re missing what I’m saying. Walk the packet to each place.

CH (1LT) (Join to see) - yes. If you have your local com and's support and they know. Otherwise it will sit until they get to it. At each stop. Make appointments at those stops so it is not an ambush. Keep your chain informed.

I am also in army reserve trying to go for Direct commision active duty. I have send packet for this october but My conditional release packet is sitting at BN level. I don’t think its gonna get approve before board date. I am worried too. You mean we don’t need conditional release for just board decision? So we need conditional release after board date and before signing contract right???
